Quietly Brilliant!!!!

The Hindu : Arts / Cinema : The Artist: Silence sweeps the Oscars

Last night i watched this movie and it left a sweet nostalgic feeling for the black and white movies of yesteryear.
The movie had a "lived happily ever after" ending which was very satisfying.I am the soppy kind who likes happy ending so it was perfect for me! A must watch for everyone.

A short family holiday to a small village called Galudhi.

Family holidays are always difficult to organize BUT they are sooo much fun.Last October (2011) we decided that we will go to Galudhi.

Galudhi is a small village next to the river Subarnarekha. Its a peaceful place ,to go to ,to get away from the hassle f life!
Though, if you have twelve in a group there is not much quietness to be had!!

A Sunday visit to the Kolkata Book Fair

Last sunday we went to the 36th International Kolkata book Fair. It has been eight years since i've last visited the fair. We had a thoroughly enjoyable three hours. It brought back many many happy memories..... how we used to come every year with my Mum, Dad and sister. It was so exciting for me as it was the only time we bought story books.Later on, in collage i came with my friends bunking classes to enjoy the mellow winter sun of kolkata and to browse through the books.

After we returned to Kolkata to settle down , we had been too busy with something or the other and we could never make the time to visit the fair.this year i had made a New Years resolution that i'll take the whole family to the fair and we made it on the last day .This was the first time for Riddhi, Rik and Rajiv.

The book fair had its own share of DRAMA!!! Is kolkata becoming as intolarable as jaipur?
The fair organisers cancels the release of Taslima Nasreen's latest book " Nirbashan."
Kolkata Book Truthful 2011 In fact, we could not get any books written by her.The shopkeepers said that they were all sold out.
